International Visegrad Fund
(Nemzetközi Visegrádi Alap)
A Nemzetközi Visegrádi Alap egy nemzetközi donor szervezet, amelyet a Visegrádi Csoport (V4) országainak – Csehország, Magyarország, Lengyelország és Szlovákia – kormányai hoztak létre. Célja, hogy elősegítse a V4 régióban élő emberek közötti jobb megértést és együttműködést, valamint a V4 régió és más országok, különösen az EU-n kívüli Keleti Partnerség országai és a Nyugat-Balkán közötti kapcsolatokat. Az alap támogatja a civil társadalom fejlődését közös pályázati projektek finanszírozásával, valamint egyetemi ösztöndíjak és művészeti rezidenciák odaítélésével. Az alap éves költségvetése 10 millió euró, amelyet a V4 országok kormányai egyenlő arányban biztosítanak.
The International Visegrad Fund is an international donor organization established by the governments of the Visegrad Group (V4) countries (the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia). Its aim is to support closer understanding and cooperation among people in the V4 region, as well as between the V4 region and other countries and regions, particularly in the non-EU neighborhood of the Eastern Partnership countries and in the Western Balkans. The fund does fosters the development of civil society by financing joint grant projects and by awarding university scholarships and artist residencies. The fund’s annual budget of €10 million consists of equal contributions by the V4 governments.

Our Project (Projektünk)
A projektet Csehország, Magyarország, Lengyelország és Szlovákia kormányai társfinanszírozzák a Nemzetközi Visegrádi Alap Visegrádi Pályázatai révén. Az alap küldetése, hogy előmozdítsa a fenntartható regionális együttműködésre irányuló kezdeményezéseket Közép-Európában.
The project is co-financed by the governments of Czechia, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia through Visegrad Grants from the International Visegrad Fund. The mission of the fund is to advance ideas for sustainable regional cooperation in Central Europe.

Handicraft Camp I.
[Location: Visk, UA]
2025. October 13 - 17
Day 1:
The Budapest-Visk route will be traveled in two cars (2x5 people). Along the way, we will stop in Beregszász to visit the Rákóczi Castle, the Calvinistic Church, and the Greek Catholic Church.
Day 2:
The program includes bead threading, straw crafting, and “kalotázás” (a special weaving technique) using an “esztovátá” (a loom with a weaving frame). The activities will be conducted with the participation of local workshop leaders, young folk artists, local students, and their families. We will compare local crafts with those from Szalka and Hungary. Participants of various age groups will experience practical workshops.
Day 3:
Excursion to Huszt, including a visit to the ruins of Huszt Castle and a comparison of Hungarian and Ukrainian legends, traditions, and literary works, then another excursion to the confluence of the Black and White Tisza rivers.
Day 4:
Acquaintance with additional local crafts and workshops, such as a blacksmith's workshop, learning about traditional tools and techniques. Visit to a flax-processing pavilion. Workshop focusing on knowledge sharing and summarizing experiences, photography and filming, and publishing on the organizations’ social media platforms. Compilation of documentation and preparation of the presentation for Budapest project day.
Day 5:
Introduction to local folk dance and folk music (zither orchestra), followed by conversations with local participants. Arrival : Szalka & Budapest

Handicraft Camp II.
[Location: Salka, SK]
2025. October 25 - 29
Day 1:
The Ukrainian group arrives in Szalka by car (5 people). The Hungarian group also arrives in Szalka by car (5 people). Together with the Slovak participants (5 people) and the program leader, we get acquainted with the Szalka Village Museum.
Day 2:
Visit to Szalka, including the Turczel Lajos Elementary School and Kindergarten. Traditional heritage program at the school, folk games. First visit to the Szalka Regional Museum. Handicraft activities and baking ancient spelt bread in the outdoor brick oven (fermentation in the evening, baking the next day). Preparation of a traditional wedding cake according to an old recipe.
Day 3:
Visits to locations relevant and important to the project: honey factory in Ipolyszakáll, traditional costume doll museum in Búc, and the War Museum in Oroszka, where we can view handmade items soldiers sent to their families. Entertainment for the youth: restaurant and escape room in Karkó.
Day 4:
Excursion to the Vadas Thermal Bath (in Párkány) and sightseeing at the Basilica (in Esztergom). Day 5: Workshop for knowledge sharing and summarizing experiences, photography and filming, and publishing on the organizations' social media platforms. Compilation of documentation and preparation of the Budapest project day's presentation. Introduction to Szalka folk dance and music (zither orchestra), followed by conversations with local participants.
Day 5:
travel to Budapest.

Exhibition
[Location: Budapest, HU]
2025. October 30
The final event of the project will be held in Budapest. In addition to the 16 participants of the excursions and camps, the guests will include students and teachers of the art school. We will visit the city's main attractions: Buda Castle, Fisherman's Bastion, the Basilica, the Opera House, and Heroes' Square. At the closing event, we will screen photos and films made during the camps, present the handicraft programs, organize an exhibition, and hold playhouses and puppet shows.
